Natural Remedy

Hi all.

If you have a cold, try this because it works! Thought I'd pass it along...

1 tsp raw honey 1/4 tsp cinnamon. Combine and swallow it in a gulp or dip it in a fruit or whatever.  Continue to do for 3 days, 3-4 times a day or when you no longer have a cold.

Fall Decor

Hi all.

I've always envied people who are so great at decorating, and being so crafty. I desire to have that quality as it will come in handy during my teaching career. You learn with time, but it seems like some people have a natural ability to decorate their houses, classrooms, etc. and do a very good job. Others, on the other hand, have to put in much effort to accomplish half of what those 'naturally abled' people can do.

So this fall, I've seen so many cute things on pinterest and other blogs and have been really inspired to decorate for the season(s). For our dining room, as pictured, I went to the store and got a few things, used some of what I had, and borrowed whatever else I needed-like the vase in the picture. I am the last person to go around borrowing things, but when Diana brought this vase over I quickly accepted it. I really need to run to the store and get the same one, but this borrowing situation works too ;) I've done a few other things around the house. My mother is not fond of this new hobby of mine, but lets me "pursue" it nonetheless.

Lesya

The Never Ending Story Blog

Hi all.
Quite a while ago I started following a blog called The Never Ending Story. This family adopted all of their 7 children from Ukraine. I myself (and the majority of my readers) are Ukrainian, so I thought I would share this. Hope y'all check it out!

Fall Excitement

Hi all.

It won't technically be fall until the 21st of September but it sure does feel like Fall around here!
The weather is changing, the nights seem longer, school is in sessions...and the leaves will soon be falling!

This fall I am looking forward to a few things.

 via
There is no dessert better than a slice of homemade pumpkin pie. I found the best pumpkin pie recipe two years ago. It is so good. I've had soo many different pumpkin pie recipes and the one I use beats them all. Of course, it is very unhealthy considering some of the ingredients, but in this case-who cares!

Sunday School! How funny-I just went on google to get an image and the first image that came up said "Dee Cee." I clicked on it, and surely it was from Diana's blog. Anyway, I am really excited about Sunday school beginning this fall. We had our first class, and boy the kids were a handful, but so much fun! I pray we will have a year to help the kids grow in Christ and to love Jesus.

I've been loving fall decor- especially do it yourself little projects. If I had more time, there would be so many little fall accents around our house.

My Favorite Right Now

Hi all.

Sometimes I go through phases where I find a particular food to be soo good for a few months.
This time the food is:

Simply spaghetti with pasta sauce and crackers on the side. A little Parmesan cheese I like in there too :) I wonder how long it'll be until I can't look at this meal...

Real Quick...

...before I begin doing some homework there are some things I have been loving since school started.

Olga and I stop by sometimes after the city school observations as it is right on the way and the service is quick. We tried their French Onion Soup and it is so good! That is the only place I want to go out to eat these days.

Blazers! Oh how I love them...I do restrain from buying much because a few will do. Right? I just love that you can dress up with them, or dress down. Works both ways. Now that's a frugal clothing idea ;)

Friday night after evening service I went with my mom to Khols and then Tops, so I got these. They are a great snack :)

Blessings,
Lesya :)

This or That

New game, fellow blog readers! Remember when we were younger, some of us took a store ad and played the this or that game...so I thought it would be fun to do something like that here. Once a week, I will post 2 similar "objects." It could be clothes, furniture, cars, hairstyles, purses, stores, etc...you will then post in the comments This or That. Each picture will be labeled. If you read the blog, but aren't a follower, simply comment under anonymous and write your choice and name right below. So, lets get started!
Today...to honor a friend's request we will do wedding dresses!  Your choices are:

Books I Plan on Reading this Summer!

I've been wanting to read this for awhile now! Hopefully I'll get to it this summer.
I took this book from the library to read this past semester, but I didn't have time to read it. Diana read it and said it was good! It's unique because it's a real love story and not made up about a city girl leaving everything to marry a cowboy. The has a website, www.thepioneerwoman.com where she shares recipes, etc.
This one I'm planning to read only because of Diana's recommendation...if you didn't read about it on her blog you can still do that...diana-ablogaboutlife.blogspot.com
I don't want to add too many books here, because I'll be glad if I get through these three!
I have lots more books at home that I will read if I finish these up!

smiley360.com—Be Heard. Be Happy.

Hey friends,
I'm part of a program I guess you can say, where they send you products to try, and recently they sent a coupon for a free package of "Country Crock." I loved it and so I'm sharing this link with you. What l like most is that in comparison to other spreads, this one is a healthier option. Check it out! Plus, for every click I get a smiley which improves your status in this program, so thank you and if you want to learn more about this then ask me! Also you get a coupon once you go to the link :) Its 40 cents but most stores double, so that's almost a dollar off :)

Natural and Organic Foods

Happy Friday!
First off, I'm not going to post scripture today, I would like to incorporate Jesus' resurrection so I thought Sunday when it is official Easter and Christ has risen from the grave, I will post them then. Hopefully I won't be too busy Sunday.
This morning I went to school, then I had to stop by to get my bangs trimmed, but there was a line, go figure, its a Friday, so I ended up going to Wegman's to grab a few things for my mom. Afterwards, it was pretty warm out so I wanted to get the food home as soon as possible so I did not get my bangs trimmed, but that's ok. I will go tomorrow :)
I have been into natural and organic food for quite some time...now, that doesn't mean I've been eating it, but I've been wanting to. I guess it started when I began watching what I ate closely and trying to get myself into shape before summer time. In school, sometimes I end up getting unhealthy snacks because I'm not too hungry to buy a meal, but would like to nibble on something small. So I headed over to the organic section at Wegman's and decided to get a few things for myself.
This is what I got:
No, no the lindt chocolate did not come from the natural/organic section. Let me explain...but first here is the run down:
Strawberry Cobblers: Were on sale for 2.99, originally 3.99 (I tried one already....not as good as they look!)
Clif Crunch: Paid the original price, 2.99 (These are some white chocolate macadamia nut flavor.) I haven't tried them yet, but decided they are not worth buying in regards to the "healthy" snacks I am trying to eat. Well, unless they are REALLY good I'll continue to get them since they are not expensive and are healthier than candy bars, but I'm not into those anyways. I guess it was nice to buy something "sweet" that is considered healthier!
Hummus Chips: On Sale 2/5.00 I like chips, so this would be a healthy substitute I thought. I tried the red pepper flavor and after the first few I ate, I was not sure I was liking them, but the more I ate the more I began to really like them!
The Lindt chocolates: These are my favorite. I love the smooth chocolate filling that is in them, but I always abstain from buying them because they are expensive, unhealthy, etc...but I bought them in the bulk section. I still paid 5.39 for them but that's ok. I don't buy them often. As I am trying to eat healthy, I shouldn't have bought them in the first place, but you know when you are hungry in a store, and then the thought comes, well I will be eating these healthy snacks, why not get chocolate? This will be my splurging area. So I did. I ate four today because they are just so good.
So these snacks are basically for when I go to school. At home I will continue to eat healthy (usually!) homemade foods. I just thought I might as well spend a little more on snacks that are healthier for me, or snacks that are not as unhealthy. Maybe that is the correct way of stating it! Also, even at home when I feel like having chips, why not have the "healthier" option to choose.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I will be busy cleaning, and doing homework (I feel like I am drowning in it).
I am glad that we got most of our dessert cooking for Easter done Wednesday night and today. Coming up next week I will share with you about my lovely brothers helping in the kitchen. Let me tell you, that was no small task for them!
Blessings,
Lesya

My current "loves"

All Things Yellow...
Especially Yellow Shoes! (But I haven't found ones I've "fallen in love with" yet!

And most of all I have this "renewed" love for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on whole-wheat bread. (Trying to keep things healthy around here!)

Well now I'm going to go back to working on my homework. The girls are coming over tonight to finally practice our song! (Lord I Offer My Life! Don Moen) So I don't have much time, thought I'd hop on here to say what I'm loving. Tomorrow I hope to do a Bible verse post...
